SIPR Health Team

Having joined SIPR in 1987, Cordell serves as SIPR's senior strategic adviser, guiding clients through the formative stages of their communication plans and providing high-level counsel throughout the program. He has played the driving role in establishing most of SIPR's PR processes and is involved in all major client initiatives. Cordell has a background in business/technology journalism and still practices the craft on a freelance basis to keep his pen sharp. He earned a BA in English and an MA in Social Science from San Jose State University.
Caroline delves into the minds and motivations of healthcare professionals and consumers. She applies behavioral science principles to communication programs in medical education, professional promotion, consumer acquisition, and patient retention. Brands she has worked on include Amgen's Kineret and Neupogen, Abbott's Biaxin; Berlex's Betaseron; Cyberonics' VNS Therapy; Glaxo Wellcome's HIV portfolio and Zyban; Gore's medical division; InterMune's pulmonolgy division; Knoll's Meridia; and Merck's Fosamax, Singulair, Varivax, Vioxx, and Zocor.

Prior to joining the SIPR team, Caroline was on the research faculty of the Stanford University School of Medicine's Center for Research in Disease Prevention. Her academic work includes large-scale studies of cardiovascular disease risk-reduction interventions, and youth health promotion programs. She has published extensively in peer-reviewed scientific journals, including the American Journal of Public Health, Annals of Epidemiology, Journal of Health Psychology, and Health Education Quarterly. She has authored chapters for numerous edited volumes on health behavior research and contributed to the 1996 Surgeon General's Report on Health. In addition, Caroline completed an NIH post-doctoral fellowship in Cardiovascular Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine.
Peg Atkinson's career comprises 18 years of experience marketing medical devices and products as well as active participation in health delivery as a part-time ER nurse. She has worked across a broad spectrum of medical products including laser surgery devices, ultrasound, endoscopic devices, and laser catheters. Ms. Atkinson has been responsible for customer analysis and developing marketing plans, in this way transferring her medical education and experience to business applications. She is uniquely qualified to advise medical start-up companies on the clinical and marketing aspects of business development. She studied nursing at the Mayo Clinic and has a BA in International Business/International Relations from San Francisco State University. She also serves on the U.C. Irvine Committee for High Tech Education Development.
From a head nurse of a big city ER at the tender age of 22, to a Senior Research Scientist in the Stanford University School of Medicine, Ms. Feighery brings a wide range of experience to the SIPR Health team. She has intimate knowledge of health care delivery and brings a strong background in agency management, community capacity building and advocacy. Ms. Feighery has more than 25 years experience in the health field and 10 years of experience in medical school research. She received a nursing degree from St. Joseph Hospital in Paterson, N.J., a BA in Sociology from U. Mass. Boston and an MS in Health Administration from New York State University at Stonybrook.
Geoff joined SIPR about four years ago and is our web master, IT manager and multimedia guru. In addition, he is responsible for the creation of graphical content, including the design and production of web sites, brochures, and other marketing collateral. He has a degree in English from UC Santa Cruz.
